Jim Navary started Virginia Search Engine Marketing armed with a vision to offer his skills in the internet marketing and search engine optimization field to local Virginia businesses facing the immense challenges of the 2009 economic recession.

Jim’s early career was in the Federal government working in Norfolk and then at Fort Lee in Petersburg. In 1995 he began dabbling in internet marketing on a part time basis. Based on the success of his efforts, in 1997 he left Civil Service in order to concentrate full time on his internet marketing business. He has made his living through internet marketing ever since.

The seed of an idea for establishing a local search engine marketing service was planted several years ago. At that time he contracted with an SEO “expert” firm located in California to help boost one of his website’s ranking in the search engines. It was, to put it mildly, an unpleasant – and costly – experience. The effort was doomed to failure as the SEO firm never fully understood his business. They were, after all, over 3000 miles away.

Armed with this exciting idea, a strong belief in honest business and a small investment saved from previous internet marketing endeavors, Jim is dedicated to the concept that the only way his business will succeed is by ensuring that his local clients’ businesses succeed.
